Leeds United: Fans react to Kalvin Phillips’ post following Huddersfield Town win

Kalvin Phillips may have been unavailable to play for Leeds United on Saturday against Huddersfield Town because of suspension, however it appears he now has an understanding of what some of the Whites’ faithful go through when he is on the pitch.

The Elland Road star took to Twitter after witnessing his side come through the Yorkshire derby victorious and admitted he now knows how nervous the fans can get when watching his team-mates throughout 90 minutes.

Indeed, Marcelo Bielsa’s side did not miss Phillips on the day with both Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez striking gold to take Leeds back to the top of the Championship, however there will be many that will want to see the recently-turned 24-year-old back on the field sooner rather than later.

According to the data collected by WhoScored, the defensive midfielder has managed to achieve an average of 3.7 tackles in his 19 second-tier appearances, 1.5 interceptions, 1.4 clearances as well as playing 2.1 key passes per game.

Fans appeared to love his message on Twitter after the game, with many appearing to take the moment to tell Phillips that it was something that they have had to adapt to and it is a scenario that they have come to expect every time Leeds take to the field.
