Leeds United: Fans react to Nottingham Forest’s setback against Middlesbrough

Plenty of Leeds United fans were left buzzing on Monday night as one of their Championship promotion rivals failed to pick up three points.

Nottingham Forest travelled to the Riverside Stadium to take on a struggling Middlesbrough outfit, but they were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw. It actually could have been worse for the Tricky Trees as Boro had a 2-1 lead, but an 86th-minute equaliser from Lewis Grabban ensured that the away side at least took a point from the game (BBC Sport).

Despite Grabban’s goal, it was still a good result for the three clubs currently above them in the table, particularly West Brom and Leeds who occupy the automatic promotion places. It means that the Baggies are nine points above fourth-placed Forest, whilst the Whites are eight clear of the East Midlands side (BBC Sport).

There are now just 10 games to go in the Championship and the promotion race is certainly heating up. Naturally, lots of Leeds supporters were delighted to see one of their rival clubs drop points in the battle for the Premier League, with many taking to Twitter to express their happiness.

Here is what some had to say…
