Leeds United: Fans relieved after dramatic victory over Birmingham City

Leeds United fans were feeling relieved after the Yorkshire outfit’s dramatic late winner over Championship rivals Birmingham City.

With West Bromwich Albion having been 2-0 down at home to Middlesbrough at the time, the Whites needed a winner to go top of the table on goal difference.

The game started out with Marcelo Bielsa’s side taking a two-goal lead through Helder Costa and Jack Harrison in the opening 21 minutes of the encounter (via BBC).

However, Jude Bellingham and Lukas Jutkiewicz hit back as Birmingham drew level on the 61st-minute mark.

Leeds then took the lead again, twice, through Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas, but Pep Clotet’s side struck back thanks to Jeremie Bela and Jutkiewicz.

However, the Elland Road outfit ensured they left the Midlands with all three points when a cross from Ayling was turned into his own net by Wes Harding.

Fans couldn’t believe their eyes as they took to Twitter to react with astonishment to the nine-goal fixture.
