Rewind back to December – Leeds United are 11 points clear of third-placed Fulham having just beaten Hull City 2-0 at home. At that point, everything seemed rosy as the Whites looked on course to achieve promotion to the Premier League.
However, a 2-0 loss to Nottingham Forest has changed everything and Marcelo Bielsa’s team now sit on the same number of points as the west London side with just 15 games left in the Championship season. To add to the woes, the Yorkshire outfit are currently in the worst form of any side in the top six, having won just one of their last six games (via BBC).
One fan made it clear that he’s given up on the team.
I give up.

A game away to Brentford at Griffin Park is next up, a venue where Leeds haven’t won since 1950 (via 11v11). Indeed, the Bees are in stellar form this campaign as they hold the second-best attacking and the best defensive record in the division. As Phil Hay pointed out, it’s hard to see how the Elland Road giants can recover in such a huge game as fans took to Twitter to express their woes at the loss of an 11-point gap.
Let’s take a look at a selection of tweets:
Wheels have gone. Can’t sustain form. Similar pattern last 3 seasons, players fade

Wigan have won more in their last 6 games than we have this year I think, that’s how bad it is

But no need for a sports psychologist. Everything is under control. Complacency from top to bottom on our organization. It will cost us…
