Leeds United: Fans annoyed as expected goals statistics highlight woeful finishing

Leeds United fans have been left feeling saddened by one part of the Whites’ season after comparisons were made between the current campaign and last year.

According to LUFCDATA, Marcelo Bielsa’s side are enjoying a similar season after 33 Championship games, however, the one big difference is proving to be xG and the number of goals scored. At this point last year, the Yorkshire side had scored 55 goals and had an xG of just 51.8, showing how potent the club was in the final third.

One fan called the stats ‘sickening’.

However, Marcelo Bielsa’s team have been in poor form this campaign, scoring just 48 goals, despite having an xG of over 60. It’s clear to see that finish has been a problem for the outfit and their home game against Wigan Athletic is just one example of their lack of end product (via BBC). Fans were feeling less than pleased after the stats emerged as they reacted on Twitter. Let’s take a look at some of the replies:

Leeds fans, do you think the club can get promoted this season despite the poor conversion rate? Let us know your thoughts!
