Leeds United fans were showing their support for Niklas Haugland after the youngster was called up to the Norway under-18 squad for an upcoming international competition.
The 17-year-old will be playing in the La Manga Tournament against Portugal, R0mania and Turkey with the Lions’ first game against the Tricolours on the 7th of February. He’s enjoyed a fine season this campaign as he’s helped Mark Jackson’s side reach the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup, having defeated Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday en route to a tie against either Norwich City or Manchester United (via Leeds United).
He’s the only player among the 20-player squad to play his football in England and is one of just three to be playing outside of their native country. Fans were full of good wishes for the youngster and he looks to take to the field for his homeland as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets from the Elland Road faithful:
