Leeds United: Kalvin Phillips’ Community Player of the Year nomination has many fans gushing

Responding to a post from Leeds United’s official club account, many Whites fans have been in awe over Kalvin Phillips’ Community Player of the Year nomination for the third year in a row – taking to Twitter and praising the player for his performances this campaign.

Phillips, who has registered the most tackles per game on average (2.8) out of any other Leeds player according to WhoScored.com, is being nominated for the Community Player of the Year accolade for a third consecutive season.

The Englishman, who has started 31 games for Marcelo Bielsa’s side in the Championship this season, playing a major role in their hunt for promotion, is being put forward for the award again due to his consistent involvement with community projects – visiting foundation programmes and building ‘strong‘ relationships with members of the Whites fan base. The 24-year-old could also be found attending a number of charity events throughout 2019, resulting in his third successive nomination for the prize.
