Leeds United can now sign Wolves forward Hwang Hee-chan, but only at the ‘right price’, according to Alan Nixon.

The Lowdown: Kalajdzic agreement

The Whites could well look to sign a new forward before Thursday’s deadline and they have Hwang on their radar.

However, Wolves have been on the hunt for a new striker themselves and have therefore been reluctant to let the South Korean leave as a result.

It looks as if Bruno Lage’s side will get their wish, though, after an agreement was reached with Stuttgart to bring Sasa Kalajdzic to the Midlands in a deal worth an initial £15.4m.

The Latest: Nixon’s update

On Monday, reliable reporter Nixon was asked by a Leeds supporter on Twitter what it means vis-à-vis Hwang moving to Elland Road following Wolves’ agreement for Kalajdzic.

The journalist replied, saying that the forward can now leave Molineux at the ‘right price’.

The Verdict: Time to act

The final few days of the transfer window could be crucial with regards to how Leeds’ season plays out.

Bringing in a new forward may well prove to be the difference between a comfortable mid-table finish or a potential relegation battle, with Patrick Bamford’s injury struggles continuing this season.

Phil Hay has stated that Jesse Marsch would work with Hwang again after the South Korean starred under the American at both Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig, contributing to 40 goals in 43 games, so hopefully Leeds view Wolves’ ‘right price’ tag as acceptable.
