A lot of the news pre-game was discussing the noticeable absence of Rodrigo from the squad and Phil Hay has since provided the update that he has to self-isolate because he came into contact with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus.
What happens next with Rodrigo
How big a blow is this for Leeds
With Rodrigo and Raphinha both being unavailable against Leicester, Leeds’ attacking substitutes were Tyler Roberts, who has only managed 24 goals in his career, and Ian Carlo Poveda, who only has ten senior appearances to his name.
When the club announced the arrival of Rodrigo, it felt like a marquee signing. The 29-year-old has eight goals for Spain in 25 appearances (Transfermarkt), has six trophies to his name, and he has scored 113 career goals in 388 appearances.
He has played for Leeds six times in the Premier League (three from the bench) and has one goal. He has also managed on average 2.2 shots and one key pass per game (WhoScored).
Therefore, this absence could be a big blow for Marcelo Bielsa as he loses a great attacking talent.
In other Leeds news, Phil Hay also provided an update on how the club feels about PPV. Have a read of what their stance is here!
