BBC broadcaster Adam Pope conducted an interview with Leeds United majority shareholder and chairman, Andrea Radrizzani, and new Leeds United vice chairman and President of 49ers Enterprises, Paraag Marathe, on BBC’s West Yorkshire Sport Daily.
This comes after the development on Monday that 49ers Enterprises have increased their stake in the Yorkshire club to 37%.

Marathe and Radrizzani’s ‘big message’
The behind-the-scenes Leeds duo discussed 49ers Enterprises’ new investment, as well as the future of Leeds United during this interview.
Pope took to Twitter to share that Marathe and Radrizzani’s ‘big message’ on the future of the Yorkshire club, based on what they said in this interview, was that they intend to turn Leeds United into ‘a global footballing power’ via their ‘continued long-term working partnership.’
Promising news for Leeds United
So, with The Athletic’s Phil Hay explaining that 49ers Enterprises’ new investment in Leeds United makes them ‘much more than minor partners,’ surely it’s exciting news for fans of the Yorkshire club that Marathe and Radrizzani have got such ambitious goals, especially as Radrizzani has succeeded in helping Leeds to rise up the English football pyramid since taking the club over in 2017.
As a result of the progress Leeds have made under Radrizzani thus far, Whites fans may have reason to believe that he and Marathe’s goal of taking the Whites even further and turning them into ‘a global footballing power’ isn’t too far-fetched.
So, Pope’s claim that this was the main message they conveyed in their interview is promising for Leeds fans, in our view, and it will be interesting to see if the Yorkshire club do indeed make strides towards achieving that goal over the coming years, having only just returned to England’s top-flight for the first time in 16 years this season.
