Leeds United: Whites fans react on Twitter to Andrea Radrizzani reports

Andrea Radrizzani

It has been an awful month to be a Leeds United supporter, hasn’t it?

Having witnessed their side crash out of the play-offs at the semi-final stage via a heartbreaking 4-2 defeat to Derby County, the Elland Road faithful have had to deal with the uncertainty surrounding Marcelo Bielsa’s future over the past week.

Yet to agree a new deal with the Whites, it would not be at all surprising if the Argentine decides to cut ties with the club, especially if the latest rumours concerning the club’s financial position turn out to be true.

According to Football Insider, chairman Andrea Radrizzani is reportedly made it clear behind the scenes that he is unwilling to heavily invest during the upcoming the transfer window even if the club do end up selling some of their most prized assets.

Although the Whites were able to launch a sustained push for promotion during the 2018/19 campaign after a limited amount of spending last summer, they may not be able to repeat this feat next season if end up adopting the same approach.

Yet with Radrizzani taking a tough stance on recruitment, it comes as no shock that these Leeds fans have reacted in anger to the Italian on Twitter.

We need investment and Radz would be daft not to take on the PSG links. Orta can’t be trusted to go shopping in Sainsbury’s, never mind the transfer market.

This can’t be true… why would he not take investment if we were in that position. Contradicts what @PhilHayYEP said of Radz thinking we are on the brink of something special

— Mike (@M1ke73305) May 27, 2019

Very frustrating

— Danny De la Montaña (@Yorky2860) May 27, 2019

This is not the way to do it Radz. Unfortunately money talks and loan signings and bargains won’t do it

— Charlie Brock (@CharIieBrock) May 27, 2019

its the way under Radz, Vieira sold last summer, Woods and Taylor the one before, and replace with cheaper options. when it comes to first-team players, he has never gone for it. January proved this, best chance in 15 years and he did nothing

— Sheppey1919 (@Sheppey1919) May 27, 2019

Mid table without investment. Simple as that

— snewton1982 (@snewton1982) May 27, 2019

And there we have the reason why Bielsa hasn’t signed yet.

— Rich (@A1eedsfan) May 27, 2019

Well least I’ll get served quicker at bar when we’re sat 14th and people stop coming

— Chris (@CGamb15) May 27, 2019

Orta struggles to bring in good players when he has a budget, take away that budget and it’s only going to get more difficult. When it comes to his loan signings they’re mostly terrible. Can see resentment towards Radrizanni growing if we turn down this QSI investment.

Totally slipped my mind…. we’re screwed

— Joshua Sugarman (@TheJSug) May 27, 2019

If the 44-year-old does indeed decide to sanction the sale of some of the Whites’ best players over the coming months and then fails to re-invest, it could result in a season of struggle for the Yorkshire-based outfit.
