Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern have never been afraid to voice their opinion on Mike Ashley, as recent reports caught a slightly humored response from the Toon Army.

Indeed, it doesn’t take a genius to realise that Newcastle United fans are less than happy with the current state of their club’s ownership, as Mike Ashley continues to be pushed towards selling the club as soon as possible. But, after securing the signing of a striker that both Benitez and fans were craving, it appears that Ashley has decided to make an effort as his time as owner runs down.

As if there wasn’t enough unpredictability surrounding Newcastle United and their transfer business this window, news of Mike Ashley offering up some assistance for the club has been a shock to the system for many. Even if it was the small task of providing transport, it’s the most Newcastle fans have seen from Ashley in years, as he’ll feel he played a ‘huge’ part in striker Islam Slimani signing on loan until the end of the season.

Indeed, Mike Ashley’s failure to spend big this window seems to have all been splashed on chartering a private jet to pick up Islam Slimani, as Newcastle journalist Mark Douglas notified fans that the Sports Direct mogul had completed the small task of chartering a private jet to pick up the Algerian for his medical.
