The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have been getting more and more irate as their club continues to draw blanks in their pursuit of a suitable backup striker for Harry Kane. According to Sky Sports News, Alassane Plea could be the club’s latest target and the fans aren’t best pleased.

The French striker has been at Nice for four seasons now since he made his move from Lyon in summer 2014, although the 25-year-old could now be forced to move away from Ligue 1 to pursue a career in the Premier League. Sky claims that West Ham, Fulham and Newcastle are also keen on signing the striker, although with Spurs in the Champions League next season you would expect they’re the favourites to sign the striker.
Apparently, Patrick Vieira’s Nice want £26.6 million (30 million euros) for the striker and West Ham have tabled an offer of around this price already. It seems like the writing is on the wall for Plea’s departure as he missed Vieira’s first day of pre-season training with fellow striker, Mario Balotelli. However, Plea’s absence is supposedly down to issues over airline tickets and not due to the fact he’s trying to force a move.

As you can see, the Spurs fans in the Tavern aren’t exactly keen on signing Plea this summer, although he’s better than no one.
