Life after Chadli: West Brom must replace Belgian with 1 of these 2 astute additions

Chadli

According to Turkish publication TRT, Besiktas are interested in signing Nacer Chadli following his World Cup exploits.

After the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season, West Brom were always going to lose key figures from their squad over the summer. Now, Belgium’s Nacer Chadli looks set to be next to make his Hawthorns exit.

Baggies boss Darren Moore has a big job on his hands rebuilding this demoted squad and he won’t have the finances at his disposal to offer high wages to big name signings.

In order to replace Chadli’s role in the side, Moore will need to identify an attacking player, comfortable with the ball tight to the flank, and willing to run at opposition defenders. Crossing ability and a degree of creativity will be vital, as will being capable of finishing goalscoring opportunities when they present themselves.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting

Transfermarkt’s valuation of £7.2 million makes Choupo-Moting potentially an quite expensive replacement option, though the funds raised from Chadli’s sale should be sufficient to cover the cost.

After a difficult season with fellow relegation sufferers Stoke, the Cameroon international can hardly be said to be in good form. However, a change of scene could help get him back to his best, and he has all the attributes to fill the Chadli vacancy effectively if he can rediscover his confidence.

Reiss Nelson

Bringing this talented Arsenal youngster in on loan would be a great signing for West Brom, as he would add real verve to their attacking play.

Nelson could use the experience of being a first team regular in a senior side, and West Brom could really do with the 18-year-old’s pace, trickery and fearlessness on a football pitch.

This is a deal that works for all involved, unless the Gunners see Nelson as a player already capable of making an impact in their own first team, or they’d rather loan him out to a fellow top flight outfit.
