Liverpool’s season has fallen well below expectations.
The reigning Premier League champions have crashed out of both domestic cups and the Champions League, while their hopes of securing a top-four finish are also beginning to fade as they sit fifth in the table.
With a disappointing campaign unfolding, attention is already turning toward the summer transfer window — particularly with Andy Robertson expected to move on, leaving a major gap at left-back.
Liverpool Scouting David Raum
Liverpool have been closely monitoring RB Leipzig full-back David Raum after sending scouts to watch him in action earlier this week.
According to TEAMtalk, representatives from both Liverpool and Manchester United were present during Leipzig’s narrow 1-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach. While the initial focus was on highly-rated winger Yan Diomande, it was Raum who ultimately caught the eye with an outstanding performance.
The 27-year-old delivered a commanding display, earning Man of the Match honours and showcasing the kind of consistency and physicality required to thrive in the Premier League. His showing appears to have strengthened Liverpool’s interest as they assess potential replacements for Robertson.
Raum — who has even been described by Barcelona star Lamine Yamal as his “toughest opponent” — is now firmly on the radar as a ready-made solution at left-back. His experience, defensive solidity and attacking contribution make him an attractive option for a side looking to rebuild.
For Liverpool, the need is clear. With Robertson nearing the end of his time at Anfield, the club are prioritising a dependable successor, and Raum’s recent performances suggest he could be well suited to step into that role.
