Liverpool striker Divock Origi's move to AC Milan appears to be edging closer all the time, following another key update regarding the Belgian's future.

The Lowdown: Origi heading to Milan?

The 26-year-old has been continually linked with a move to the Serie A giants in recent weeks, with his time at Anfield looking to be drawing to a close.

Origi has struggled badly for playing time this season, managing just 71 minutes of Premier League action, albeit scoring a dramatic late winner at Wolves in that time.

It looks as though Milan is set to be the attacker's next destination, following eight years at Liverpool.

The Latest: Another update emerges

According to Calciomercato [via Sport Witness], Origi is 'slowly approaching' a switch to the Rossoneri, with his representatives in 'constant contact' with them.

Meanwhile, Milan News [via Sport Witness] also claim that the Belgium international 'would gladly wear the Milan shirt' and there is confidence 'an agreement can be reached in a relatively short time'.

The Verdict: Undisputed cult hero

It looks highly likely that Origi will trade Liverpool for Milan, but one thing that is for certain is he will never be forgotten by Reds supporters, with Jurgen Klopp describing him as a 'monster'.

He has become one of the great cult heroes at Anfield, not often finding himself as a regular but scoring some of the most iconic goals in recent history, against the likes of Barcelona, Tottenham and Everton.

This feels like the perfect time for Origi to move, with five great players above of him in the pecking order - here's hoping he has another massive moment in him between now and May.
