Liverpool view Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise as the “ideal heir” to Mohamed Salah and have been keeping close tabs on the player. TEAMtalk has reported that Liverpool’s recruitment team are unanimous in this belief, but will face an uphill battle to sign the player.
The former Crystal Palace star has been a standout performer for Bayern since making the switch in 2024. Bayern are happy with the player and are expected to shut down the idea of a departure outright.
Reports have suggested that Bayern are preparing to open talks with the player over a new contract despite the fact that his current deal doesn’t expire until 2029. The player himself is reportedly in no rush to return to the Premier League.
Olise has scored 22 goals and provided 39 assists in 55 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern, establishing himself as one of the world’s elite wingers. The player is valued at over €100m, with Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona also interested known admirers.
Liverpool keen on Olise

Liverpool are known to be actively seeking replacements for talisman Mohamed Salah. Salah has been increasingly linked with a move away from the club next summer after enduring a difficult campaign for the Reds.
He suffered a dip in form this season, and in December criticized his manager for dropping him from the side. He was then linked with a shock January departure from the club but enjoyed a break by representing his country Egypt at the African Cup of Nations.
Despite being reinstalled into Arse Slot’s starting XI, speculation continues to grow about a possible departure from the club. Lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia continue to circulate, with the player reportedly much more open to leaving Anfield next summer then he was last year.
Liverpool have drawn up a list of targets outside of Olise to replace Salah. RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, and Paris Saint-Germain pair Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola are all known to be of interest to the Reds.
