Stade de France, Saint-Denis near Paris, France - May 28, 2022. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp looks on as the players warm up.

Liverpool are now monitoring Anderlecht defender Zeno Debast after scouting him on multiple occasions, according to reports in the last 48 hours.

The Lowdown: Debast profiled

The centre-back worked his way up through the youth ranks with the Lotto Park outfit to make his first-team debut last year, and has since cemented himself a place in Felice Mazzu’s senior starting XI.

The 18-year-old’s impressive performances recently earned him his first international call-up for Belgium, and having caught the eye of the Reds, it sounds like they are keen to bring their target to the Premier League.

The Latest: Liverpool’s scouting mission

According to 90min, Liverpool are ‘keeping a close eye’ on Debast, with Jurgen Klopp and his team having been ‘hugely impressed by his progress’.

Club officials are believed to have watched the 6 foot 2 colossus on a ‘number of occasions’ this season, alongside scouts from Borussia Dortmund, with the feedback reports being ‘excellent’.

The Verdict: One for the future

Debast is one of the most promising teenage talents out there right now, and Liverpool should get this deal done if they want to add a star in the making to their books in the near future.

Anderlecht’s ‘jewel’, as dubbed by football talent scout Jacek Kulig, currently averages 1.8 clearances, 1.7 tackles and 5.5 long balls per league game for Anderlecht, highlighting his desire to help his side at both ends of the pitch (WhoScored).

The Reds have been seeking out young talent recently, with the likes of Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay signed for the long haul, and having already made two international appearances, Debast could inject more youthful exuberance but already with top level experience.
