Manchester City are beginning to pile serious pressure on Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
The Gunners’ frustrating 2-2 draw with Wolves — a side rooted to the bottom of the table — has handed Pep Guardiola’s men a major boost at a crucial stage of the campaign. City now sit just five points behind Arsenal with a game in hand, and they are still to face the north London club again before the season concludes.
With momentum firmly swinging in their favour and experience on their side, it increasingly feels as though another Premier League crown could be heading back to the Etihad Stadium. City have made a habit of surging late in title races, and the current trajectory suggests history could repeat itself once more.
However, while silverware may be on the horizon, speculation is beginning to swirl around one of the club’s biggest stars.
PSG Make Approach for Haaland
According to TEAMtalk, Paris Saint-Germain have made enquiries regarding the availability of Erling Haaland. Although the Norwegian striker remains fully committed to Manchester City, the French champions are understood to have asked to be kept informed about any developments concerning his future.
The report adds that Barcelona and Real Madrid are also monitoring the situation closely. Both Spanish giants reportedly believe release clauses inserted into Haaland’s contract could provide a potential pathway for a future move.
PSG’s interest comes at a time when they are dealing with uncertainty over Ousmane Dembele’s contractual situation at the Parc des Princes, prompting them to assess long-term attacking options.
Despite the external noise, Manchester City are building their next era around Haaland. Club officials are said to be in regular dialogue with his representatives to ensure alignment over the long-term project at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola has previously described Haaland as “incredible,” and the numbers fully justify that praise.
Since arriving in England in 2022, the striker — who is contracted at City until 2034 — has rewritten the record books. He became the fastest player to reach 100 Premier League goals and has already collected two Golden Boot awards in his first three seasons. A third appears well within reach, with Haaland once again leading the scoring charts.
Manchester City look well placed to overtake Arsenal and secure yet another league title, but attention off the pitch is beginning to intensify. While interest from Europe’s elite is inevitable given Haaland’s extraordinary impact, City remain determined to keep their talisman as the cornerstone of their future dominance.
