Manchester City fans have got it really good. Even when they look to be heading towards a loss with ten men, Pep Guardiola is able to call upon players like Leroy Sane who will do the business and that’s exactly what happened yesterday. The German’s incredible free-kick against his former side was a world class strike, and the fans all loved it.

The travelling fans were initially quite frustrated to see their classy winge brought into the fold so late in the game, yet his impact cannot be underestimated. Sane has added ‘dead-ball specialist’ to his already incredible CV this season and his strike last night was his third free-kick goal of the season and his second in the Champions League against German opposition.
Sane, though, is still being used sparingly by Guardiola and he’ll be wondering what he has to do to get more minutes. The club have got the likes of Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez who can all be used out on either wing and that’s made game time hard to come by. However, as he continues to shine, Guardiola won’t be able to leave Sane out if his form continues.
