Manchester City’s 6-1 thrashing of Aston Villa proved the team who have been so dominant over the last two seasons is still there, albeit weakened by injuries to Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte. Sane still hasn’t signed a new contract at the club amid rumours he still intends to move to Bayern Munich, but City fans are begging him to stay.
Last season he got 10 goals and 10 assists (via WhoScored) in the league and the season before that he bagged another 10 and made 15 assists. His injury has left a big hole to fill in the City team and considering they’re now 14 points behind Liverpool and are chasing their first ever Champions League trophy, they need him back for the rest of the campaign.
During the Villa game, Sergio Aguero broke two records, one for scoring the most Premier League hat-tricks, 12, and also one for the most goals scored by a foreign player in Premier League history. Sane, 24, posted a congratulatory message to Aguero on his Twitter and fans were quick to reply in an attempt to convince him to stay at the club and sign a new deal.
