Flocking to Twitter, lots of Manchester City fans have panicked at the idea that Bernado Silva could leave the club, following comments made by the Portuguese maestro.

The 27-year-old has been in fantastic form after playing in a variety of positions this season, most recently as a centre-forward. Having played 18 games in the 2021/22 Premier League campaign, he has contributed seven goals and one assist to Guardiola’s side, with the vast majority of these coming from midfield.

City have lost just twice in the league all season, with one of those coming in the only game that Silva missed, the 1-0 reverse to Tottenham on the opening weekend of the season. Indeed, such has been his form that he was named the club's Player of the Month three times in a row during the autumn, no mean feat considering that the champions are on a nine-match winning streak and six points clear at top of the league.

These Man City fans react to claims about Silva’s future

City Xtra have relayed an interview to fans on Twitter in which Silva talks about his future, saying: "It depends. Right now, the Premier League is the best championship in the world, England is the country where the level is highest. There was a Spanish dominance a few years ago, which lasted a long time. At the moment, English teams are the strongest..."

These City fans flocked to the comments to plead with the midfielder, urging him to "stay forever" at the club having not too long ago been widely touted for an Etihad Stadium exit. Here’s what some of them had to say:
