Andreas Pereira has named four clubs for whom he would like to play if he leaves Manchester United in the future, according to Globo Esporte via Manchester Evening News.
Pereira has been a regular starter under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, and insisted he is committed to Old Trafford at the moment, but added he could see himself playing for the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Santos when the time is right.
Speaking to the Brazilian television programme, the midfielder said: “For now, I only dream of playing here. But of course, as a player, you would always like to play for another big club. I really like Barcelona and Real Madrid, they are top teams too. Bayern Munich. But at the moment I’m focused here at Manchester United. They provided everything for me since I was 16.”
He added: “So, I’d play here my whole life until I won everything here, then I’d go to Santos. So from here to play for another team in England, I think it’s difficult. I don’t think I’d do it. Not in England.”
Having struggled to break into the starting lineup under Solskjaer’s predecessor Jose Mourinho, the Red Devils academy graduate has made 23 appearances in this season’s Premier League for the Norwegian, scoring once, producing three assists, taking 1.6 shots per game and completing 1.3 key passes on average this term (WhoScored).
The 24-year-old signed a contract extension last year, which will keep him at the Theatre of Dreams until at least June 2023, and he is currently valued at £14.4m via Transfermarkt.
As expected, Pereira’s plans for his career have copped a fair amount of stick from the United faithful. One fan blasted the Brazilian as “delusional” and suggested he will become “just like Lingard”.
