Marco Silva causing unrest

Marco Silva

Everton will have their sights set firmly on securing a European spot in the current campaign, but a lack of consistency could halt their progress.

The Toffees have enjoyed a rather average start to proceedings as they continue to let results slip away, which could come back to haunt them. And, to make matters worse, it appears as if Marco Silva is causing problems, as according to Sun Sport, Everton stars are unhappy with the amount of training and instructions they get.

Everton’s stars are unhappy with the amount of training and instructions they are getting under Marco Silva’s new regime.

And, following their disappointing loss against West Ham last week, discontent among the squad has increased.

Many of the players, headed by seniors, believe that too much work is being done on preparation, including sessions that are above their heads.

Worryingly, one source claimed it was similar to problems during the reigns of Roberto Martinez and Ronald Koeman, who overloaded the players with too much information.

THE VERDICT:

Marco Silva needs to sort his current problems out as he runs the risk of losing the trust of his players, which could mean that the board relieve him of his duties.

Indeed, Ronald Koeman and Roberto Martinez encountered problems with their regime and often asked too much of the players, so it’s worrying to see that Silva is following a similar path.
