Matty Cash has been a stand-out player for Nottingham Forest this season and his transition to right-back has been a revelation so far.
Per WhoScored, his average rating of 7.2 makes him the Reds’ most consistent player this term, and his effectiveness going forward and in defending has made a big difference to the team’s fortunes. As a result, Ben Watson has been speaking highly (per the Nottingham Post) of his teammate, reflecting on the interest in him that arose in January and stating that it is likely to re-emerge in the summer.
The likes of Southampton and AC Milan were reported to be paying attention to the right-back, which shows the regard in which he is held, and that has worried some Forest fans.
There has been a discussion about Watson’s comments with many supporters fearing that the 22-year-old is likely to depart at the end of the season, and they will likely hope that he demands a larger fee than the £3.6m he is rated at by Transfermarkt.

In the past it’s been said about Reid, Dawson, Brereton, Burke and now Cash. Forest are just incredible and sporting talent and nurturing talent if Cash goes I bet there’s somebody else waiting for their chance.
