McLeish Looking To Snap Up £1M Man On The Cheap

Aston Villa are keeping tabs on OFK Beograd’s young hotshot Nemanja Milic, according to The Daily Mirror. The 21 year-old Serbian striker has reportedly caught the eye of Villa boss Alex McLeish with a number of impressive displays for his club side.

The Mirror claim that Villa could secure the youngster in January for a cut-price deal, as the striker’s contract runs out next summer. Milic has scored 12 goals in 69 appearances for Serbian SuperLiga side OFK Beograd.

Milic, a Serbia under-21 international, could add some much needed firepower to the Aston Villa front line, as they only currently have Darren Bent and Gabriel Agbonlahor as their recognised strikers.

After selling Ashley Young to Manchester United and Stewart Downing to Liverpool in the summer, Villa still have enough money available from those sales to purchase one or two players in the January transfer window and Milic may be the first of several arrivals at Villa Park.

Despite the sales of two of their star players, Villa are one of only four teams still unbeaten in the Premier League so far this season, winning two and drawing five of their opening seven league games.
