Valentino Lazaro bundled over a match-winning goal to seal the win for Newcastle in their FA Cup fifth round tie against West Brom and plenty of Magpies fans were delighted with his overall performance. One Geordie even went so far as to compare his finish to club legend Alan Shearer.
Lazaro is currently on loan at St James’ Park from Serie A contenders Inter Milan and netted what proved to be the decider early on in the second half. West Brom fought back to leave the final result at 3-2.
According to SofaScore the Austrian successfully completed 27 passes with an accuracy rating of 90% and dribbled past 2 players during the game.
Despite being sent off in his last appearance for the Magpies in the draw with Crystal Palace last month, many Newcastle fans appear to have forgiven the loan signing. Indeed, some are even suggesting Lazaro should replace Matt Ritchie in the starting lineup against Southampton, whilst one praised him for a ‘quality performance‘ at the Hawthorns.
