Many Newcastle United fans were fuming after an update on the prospective takeover in the northeast was given by Paul Smith on his Twitter page.
As per the journalist, there has been absolutely no confirmation from the Premier League regarding the proposed deal between Amanda Staveley’s Saudi-led consortium and the current owner of the Tyneside club Mike Ashley. Smith’s inside sources have told him that at the moment they remain completely in the dark, adding that it is a waiting game until they are officially told.
Given just how long this saga has gone on, perhaps it is understandable to see so many members of the Toon faithful fuming at this update.
With the Premier League set to resume on June 17, maybe England’s highest division can now set their attentions toward the bid at St. James’ Park and finally give it their approval, which would surely give the majority of Newcastle supporters a much-needed boost amid the continuing uncertainty over its prospective completion.

He certainly has connections to the takeover but seems we are all in the dark. Beyond a joke and it’s the @premierleague fault! Absolute disgrace
