Newcastle fans have had to endure a dire January transfer window so far, however, it looks like it’s going to be coming to life at the 11th hour, with The Telegraph reporting that Miguel Almiron, Andreas Samaris and Antonio Barreca could all be joining. However, it’s also reported that the Magpies could also be set to welcome a ‘surprise permanent deal’.
Three new arrivals are likely, including club record buy Miguel Almiron, but there could be more. Benfica's Andreas Samaris and Monaco's Antonio Barreca also likely to sign on loan and there is another SURPRISE PERMANENT deal being negotiated in the background. [Telegraph] #NUFC

After spending years feeling like their club doesn’t care whatsoever, the Geordies have been given a real reason to smile. On Tuesday evening Rafa Benitez pulled off the impossible when he engineered a huge 2-1 win over Manchester City at St James Park, and now he’s set to see the club’s transfer record broken as up to four players could be coming into the Northeast club.
The Magpies know a lot about three of those, but the surprise permanent deal is one that has eluded them so far, although they’ve all been trying to hazard a guess at who Benitez’s mystery man might be. The supporters are all desperate for it to be a striker seeing as they could be set to sell Joselu, and as far as they’re concerned any sort of #9 would be better than their Spanish ex-Stoke striker.
You can read the Geordies’ thoughts on who their surprise permanent signing might be here:
Reckon it could be a permanent Gayle/ Rondon swap to free up a premier league loan?
