Newcastle fans on twitter loved seeing Almiron make his debut last night

Last night saw an entertaining Monday Night Football take place between Newcastle and Wolves at Molineux. It was the first game in which the Magpies got to see their record signing Miguel Almiron, and the fans were elated when Rafa Benitez looked to the Paraguayan in the second half as he came off the bench on 72 minutes.

Almiron came on in place of Christian Atsu as he looked to make an impact at Molineux. When he entered the fray his side were already 1-0 up thanks to an Isaac Hayden strike earlier in the second period, yet they couldn’t hold onto it even with Almiron on the pitch as Willy Boly scored a late, late equaliser. However, it was still a good point and a start to their new man’s Geordies’ career.

One of the first things that the fans noticed about their new signing was his lightning pace. The 25-year-old came on and was instantly trying to get involved in the play with those around him. The likes of Salomon Rondon and Ayoze Perez could prove to be very effective alongside the ex-Atlanta United star, it’s just a matter of time and getting him up to scratch with the tempo of the Premier League.

The Geordies loved seeing their new man in action and will hope he can really hit the ground running against Huddersfield in 11 days time.
