Rafa Benitez is a man under pressure at St James Park, the fans don’t want him to leave but they know he could be sacked at any given moment. The Spaniard agreed to feature on MNF tonight on the proviso that Newcastle got a good result this weekend and when Craig Hope of The Daily Mail tweeted that Graeme Souness would replace Benitez, he almost killed a few Magpies.
Understand Graeme Souness will replace Rafa Benitez… as the analyst in the studio for Sky's Monday Night Football. Benitez had agreed to do show on proviso NUFC got a positive result against Brighton, and that didn't happen.

The way that Hope delivered the tweet had a lot of Newcastle fans sweating for a minute. Graeme Souness ha sbeen out of management for 12 years now, with his last job being his role at St James Park. By the end of his time in the Northeast, though, he had united the fans against him and had them all calling for his head. The 65-year-old sparked all sorts of issues in his as the gaffer there, including falling out with a number of key players.
With that two year spell alone, the Geordies would be desperate to steer well clear of the former Liverpool man and when Craig Hope ad them thinking Souness had been called to replace Benitez as the St James Park boss they truly were scared. Fortunately, it’s not that serious and they can just choose not to tune in to Monday Night Football later, which most of them probably will do, as the thought of listening to Souness is not a positive one for them.

The Magpies hate the idea of Benitez being replaced by Souness and will hope that Mike Ashley doesn’t get any ideas.
