Newcastle fans on Twitter refuse to believe Ashley’s interest in the squad is genuine

Newcastle fand everywhere have been involved in this ongoing battle with Mike Ashley for what feels like decades now. In truth, Ashley has only owned the club for 11 years, however, after years of negligence from the Sports Direct owner, he’s now made his way to the dressing room two games in a row to address Rafa Benitez and his players, according to The Chronicle.

Whilst anyone on the outside of Newcastle United may believe that Ashley is finally trying to be a good owner and do what he can on and off the field to help the side, the Magpies just cannot trust him. The supporters have been campaigning against their tyrant owner for years now and the fact that he’s been in the dressing room for two games straight doesn’t give him a pass as far as their concerned, and the protests will continue.

Newcastle were a club that looked doomed just two weeks ago. After playing out 11 Premier League games and picking up just three points of 33, St James Park was being dipped to become a Championship ground once again. However, after back-to-back wins against Watford and Bournemouth the picture has changed on the pitch. Off it, though, the fight against Ashley still goes on and the fans have seen right through the 54-year-old’s PR stunt.

The Magpies will be determined to rid their club of Ashley and will do everything in their power to up their efforts in protesting against him.
