The scouts at Newcastle United have been told to plan for no takeover as they are eyeing up an audacious loan deal for Luka Jovic, according to The Shields Gazette.
As per the outlet, a loan agreement is more likely than a permanent deal at this particular moment in time unless the proposed takeover goes through, meaning that the transfer budget has to stay restricted for now until more funds can become available to the Tyneside club.
Nevertheless, the signing of the Real Madrid ace could become quite a coup, given his previous statistics with Eintracht Frankfurt. In the 2018/19 season, Jovic scored a rather impressive 27 goals and also made seven assists having played in 48 games in all competitions, according to Transfermarkt.

However, the 22-year-old has really struggled in his first season with Los Blancos, having only managed to find the back of the net twice and provide just two assists in 26 matches in all competitions so far in this 2019/20 campaign (via the website).
Perhaps it is not a surprise then that Zinedine Zidane may be looking to offload Jovic at least for a year in the hope that he can rekindle his form in Germany if and when he returns.
Nevertheless, the Serbian international may turn out to be a valuable asset at St. James’ Park if he can score the number of goals that he did while playing in the Bundesliga, especially if the potential loan fee and wages are affordable for Newcastle.
