Our local Newcastle punters here in the Transfer Tavern are loving life at the moment in the Championship and really think they’ll be going up this season.
Indeed, the Magpies have come out of tough games with Brighton, Huddersfield and Reading respectively with a very strong seven points and are certainly the men to catch in the title run in.
And, should they go up as many expect them to do, it looks as though they will be busy in the summer window.
According to The Mirror, Newcastle will make a move for Nottingham Forest star Ben Osborn if they clinch promotion this season with the young winger continuing to impress in the second tier.
He’s got a mean left foot and at the age of 22-years-old has plenty of time to grow into a top-class player – providing he has the right coaching.
Indeed, with Forest hardly having a season to write home about this season, Osborn could be tempted to move on from the club and our landlord reckons it could be a move that benefits pretty much everyone involved.
