With Newcastle looking to adapt to life back in the Premier League, time is running out for the club to complete any new signings before the transfer window slams shut next week.
The Magpies look to have enough in the squad to compete but manager Rafa Benitez is known to want more additions as he looks to avoid an immediate drop back into the Championship after guiding them to the title last term.
The Toon Army though are always in good spirits here in the Tavern, and as usual they remain confident that Rafa can get it right for them on and off the field this year.
Our landlord has been having a good chat about reinforcements, and one man he mentioned was current Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri.
The little forward has once again fallen out of favour for the Owls after a series of spats with both teammates and manager Carlos Carvalhal, and could well be available if the bid is right.
Forestieri is a quality player on his day. His ability to produce the spectacular and his excellent work rate when he is in the mood can endear him to fans, something which Owls fans knew all about when they reached the playoff final two seasons back.
However, his time maybe up in S6, and a move to the North East could well give him a new lease of life and the chance to showcase his skills in the Premier League.
Toon Army, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know!
