Newcastle United: Steve Wraith makes takeover statement on Sky Sports

Steve Wraith has made a statement on the proposed takeover of Newcastle United as he was interviewed on Sky Sports News.

Speaking to the outlet, Wraith believes that Mike Ashley should “reach out” to the fans and “try and help them” sell the Tyneside club.

He also believes that the offer from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabian (KSA) group is “still on the table” and added that the supporters could also help by putting pressure on MPs and by signing the petition to investigate independently into the takeover process from the side of the English Premier League (EPL), which already has thousands of signatures.

Is the KSA takeover of Newcastle over?

No

Indeed, if the Toon Army and Ashley cooperate together as Wraith suggests, then it could well help towards getting the £300m deal over the line and putting more pressure on the EPL to make their final decision and potentially approve of the bid.

Wraith’s use of Sky Sports News as a platform may also put further pressure on the EPL as an increasing number of media outlets cover the story.

The Saudi-led consortium, which consists of the Middle Eastern crown prince Mohammed bin Salman (MbS), his country’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), businesswoman/head of PCP Capital Partners Amanda Staveley and the billionaire Reuben brothers, grew tired of waiting for the decision from the EPL and so decided to withdraw their own bid.

Let us start with the 10th most expensive, how much was Jonjo Shelvey?

However, there is still a possibility that the takeover could be resurrected, but this is just purely speculation unless further developments come out from the EPL. Nevertheless, Wraith believes that the Magpies faithful and Ashley himself can do their bit to try and get the deal back on.

Geordies, can you see the takeover being resurrected? Comment below with your views!
