Newcastle supporters on Twitter still not convinced with Rondon despite match-winning display

After an abysmal start to the season, Newcastle United have since managed to win back-to-back Premier League games against Watford and most recently Bournemouth.

Rafael Benitez’s men claimed their second victory of the campaign thanks to Salomon Rondon’s brace versus the Cherries, which now has the club sitting in 14th place on nine points.

Much like most of his team-mates, Rondon has struggled this term with injuries playing a part. Overall, the 29-year-old has not been able to make the sort of impact that was expected of him following his arrival on loan from West Brom over the summer.

£11.7m-rated (via Transfermarkt) Rondon, though, is now obviously off the mark in the Premier League while he certainly has the ability to make this temporary spell at St. James’ Park a successful and perhaps a permanent one down the line.

For the first time since we signed him he’s played two full matches in a row, and even then you could argue he probably would’ve went off early last week if it wasn’t for the 3 injuries. This talk is completely premature, the bloke needs to get fit and continue on from Saturday.
