The proposed takeover of Newcastle United has been delayed over a lack of clarity as to who exactly would be in charge in the northeast, according to BBC.
As per the outlet, it is understood that compliance requires greater certainty as to who would have ultimate responsibility at St James’ Park.

Indeed, businesswoman and head of PCP Capital Partners Amanda Staveley has been leading the £300m deal between Mike Ashley and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabian (KSA).
However, she is only due to take a 10% stake in the Magpies with other shareholders in place. One of those is the Middle Eastern crown prince Mohammed bin Salman (MbS), who along with the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF), are due a majority 80% of the share.

The billionaire Reuben brothers, who are originally from India but are now based in London, are also due 10%, so there are question marks as to who exactly would be in charge at the Toon.
It is also thought that the lawyers of the Premier League are struggling to establish the precise links between the consortium and the Saudi Arabian government.

Nevertheless, the main question that the Premier League seemingly must ponder is who would be in charge from the buying side, as this has apparently not been made clear.

If the would-be owners want to push the bid through, then perhaps they should give England’s highest division more clarity on the whole situation, leading to a potentially quicker final decision from the league itself.
