Plenty of Newcastle United fans are buzzing as journalists have revealed possible dates for when the prospective takeover at St. James’ Park could happen.

As per NUFC 360‘s Twitter page, BBC writer Dan Roan has claimed that the deal will go through, and has added that it could be as early as this week. The Chronicle’s Mark Douglas, who has connections on the buying side, has claimed that the hope is from the Saudi-led consortium that their bid will go through in the coming days.

The mere fact that journalists are even talking about potential times for when the takeover could go through should excite loads of members of the Toon faithful, especially as there have been some suggestions that it could go through as early as this week.

If the deal does happen, then it would end Mike Ashley’s reign of 13 years in the North East, as the new owners, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and spearheaded by businesswoman Amanda Staveley, would take over at the Magpies.
