Plenty of Newcastle United fans have been discussing a takeover claim from writer Mark Douglas after he shared his views on his Facebook page (via ChronicleLive).
As per the comments, the journalist says that there is nothing to suggest that the buy out proposed by Amanda Staveley’s PCP Capital Partners with heavyweight Saudi backing is not going to be approved and completed within days or weeks.

He also claims that the talks regarding the country’s piracy would be a discussion with the Premier League rather than an end point, and says that it would be unprecedented and game changing if the top flight disqualified the proposition.
Douglas has not yet ruled out the possibility of the Saudi-led consortium pumping hundreds of millions of pounds into the squad as well, and states that the NUFC supporters might have a club that aspires to something again if they do.
These members of the Toon faithful discussed his claim on Twitter:

Wouldn’t the days/weeks hypothetically go beyond the supposed exclusivity deal and open up the opportunity for the other bids to have a go thereby delaying things even further? #NUFCTakeover

Patience my friends, is a virtue I was taught by the elders around the desert fires. Keep the faith and social distancing.
