Newcastle United: Fans react to Matty Longstaff exit links

Many Newcastle United fans have reacted to exit links for Matty Longstaff after they were shared by The Chronicle on their official Twitter page.

The publication relayed reports from Belgium that Club Brugge are interested in signing the central midfield player in this summer’s transfer window, with Ajax also pondering a move.

The Belgian side were named champions of the division despite the season not officially finishing, so if Longstaff joins in the summer he could be playing UEFA Champions League football next campaign.

The 20-year old is no closer to a new deal with the Tyneside club and he would be allowed to leave for free after the term finishes if he does not put pen to paper on a new contract.

It would perhaps be a silly move for NUFC if they were to let Longstaff go, as the Englishman averages 34.3 passes per Premier League game at a success rate of 80 per cent, ranking highly amongst his teammates, according to Whoscored.
