According to leaked images via the Chronicle, Newcastle United may have completed their first January signing in bringing youngster Reagan Thomson to St. James’ Park – but some supporters have warned the Scotsman that he could be ‘destined for oblivion’ at his new club.
Thomson, who has been linked with a Magpies move since before the window opened, seems to have finally put pen to paper on a deal to join Newcastle’s youth ranks as they attempt to bolster their academy options. The 16-year-old midfielder could be hopeful of replicating fellow youngsters Sean and Matthew Longstaff, as they have set a fine example of how to break into Steve Bruce’s first team, with a scout report from the Chronicle back in December indicating just what supporters can expect from him.
According to the piece, Thomson is a player who likes to ’cause havoc’ with his movement into the box but will also make an effort to bring teammates into play – evident by his 76% pass completion rate for Scotland’s U17s against Iceland back in October.
However, judging by the responses of these Newcastle fans, they have warned Thomson he may not have a future on Tyneside. Find all of their best comments down below.
