Newcastle United: Pete Graves takeover update has many Magpies supporters talking

According to a tweeted update by Sky Sports journalist Pete Graves, the interest in a Newcastle United takeover is ‘very real‘, even despite a Chronicle report which states that no ‘concrete bid‘ has been launched for the club – prompting many Magpies supporters to discuss the latest update.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman, backed by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, has reportedly been in talks to buy the majority stakes in Newcastle for some time – with this piece from the Guardian back in late January indicating that a deal was ‘90%‘ complete and that Mike Ashley would sell the club imminently. However, after a month of varying updates, including one where Ashley reportedly demanded a non-refundable bond of £250,000 be paid to him directly (Daily Mirror), there has been mainly radio silence.

Taking to Twitter in order to ease fans’ frustration, Graves maintains that interest in buying the club is ‘very real‘ – with supporters since discussing the news on social media.
