Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern have, in the end, found this season to not be too taxing – with things at least ending strongly.
The club, at the start of the season and, indeed, for the first half of the year, was looking in trouble once again but Steve Bruce has come in and changed things, meaning next season is already looking like it could be a positive one.
The club, then, can relax a bit and just enjoy the season winding down – which is more than can be said of their rivals Birmingham.
Indeed, the Blues could still go down and with Villa heading to another team that is struggling, Blackburn, many Villans are wondering whether losing against the Rovers would be worth it to see their rivals go down.
Steve Bruce, of course, has played down such talk via the club’s official Twitter account but the fans are having something else to say.
