Joe Lolley has progressed into the semi-finals of the EFL Football Manager Cup after his Nottingham Forest side beat Middlesbrough 3-1.
It was another nervy affair to match his previous performance against Mansfield in the Round of 16. Lolley’s side marched to a well-deserved win after clawing back from an early Boro goal.

Tiago Silva pulled the score level in the 22nd minute but neither side could break the deadlock in regular time. As extra time creeped on, Lolley’s Forest found the back of the net twice through Joe Worrall and John Bostock. The next round could see him face off against either Brentford, Swansea or Fulham.

Only one team playing football. Forest playing some lovely stuff, knocking it around crisply and with purpose. Made Boro look like a long ball pub team.
