The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story from Sports Entertainment Group, via The Newcastle Chronicle, that claims the club, are interested in Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes. The Dutchman has scored an impressive 15 goals and eight assists in his 26 appearances in the Russian Premier League this season.
Spartak Moscow’s, Quincy Promes, is targeted by Newcastle, Roma and Tottenham. Rafael Benitez is an admirer of the player and Promes has been scouted by #NUFC twice this year. He scored 21 goals in all competitions in 2018-19 and is at 26 years of age. He'd cost €25M. [SEG]

The winger has been scouted twice by Newcastle this season, although if they are to sign him they’ll need to fight off competition from both Roma and Tottenham, who both have the pulling power of being in the Champions League next season. Rafa Benitez is supposedly a huge fan of the 26-year-old and wants to bring him to St James Park, despite Promes’ reported €25 million price tag.
Newcastle currently have Christian Atsu and Matt Ritchie as their wingers, and adding Promes to the current Magpies squad would be a huge coup for the club as his end product would be a fantastic addition. The club’s top goalscorer this season was Ayoze Perez, who only managed eight goals, meaning that the addition of Promes and his goalscoring exploits could see the club’s top scorer reach over 15 goals for the first time since Demba Ba hit 16 goals for the Geordies in the 2011/12 season.

If he's going to score 21 goals next season it's a no brainer. We should get him
