Out-of-favour Tottenham striker Roman Pavluychenko has been linked with a move away to Newcastle, with Sunderland also interested report The Daily Mail.
The Russian international has never been first-choice under Harry Redknapp, and he may finally decide to cut his losses following a season that hasn’t seen him start a single Premier league game.
Despite Pavluychenko’s lack of first-team action, his strike rate is still very impressive. Since 2008, Pavluychenko has started 69 games for Spurs in all competitions, scoring 42 goals.
Despite having a goals to game ratio of almost 0.61, Pavluychenko has usually found himself playing second fiddle to Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor.
Although Pavluychenko has previously gone on record stating he wants out of White Hart Lane, Tottenham have apparently taken the option to extend his contract a further year until 2013, according to ESPN.
Meanwhile, Pavluychenko’s teammate Vedran Corluka may also be on his way out. According to The Daily Mail, Roma, Lille and Lyon want the Croatian defender on loan, although Tottenham are said to prefer a permanent switch.
