Sunderland: Fans discuss who they want to sign to replace Bailey Wright

It was confirmed earlier this week that the ankle injury sustained by Bailey Wright against Oxford could rule him out for the rest of the season.

In response to that Phil Parkinson suggested, via James Hunter of the Chronicle, in his Bristol Rovers pre-match press conference that he is on the search for a free agent to replace the 27-year-old.

Although the loss of the Bristol City loanee is a setback Parkinson does have adequate replacements to call upon in Alim Ozturk and Joel Lynch, but the latter’s current injury shows that the defensive situation is currently quite precarious.

As a result, the manager’s desire to make another defensive addition is perfectly understandable, and there are a number of experienced League One players currently available. Supporters have reacted to the news by making their own suggestions of who the club should sign and who they should steer clear of.

Some have called for former player Glenn Loovens to return, while one wishes Jack Baldwin could be brought back from his loan spell at Salford.

Here is some of the discussion taking place.
