Portsmouth have less than a month to bring in new additions this summer, and some fans have already made it clear they want one name to be brought to Fratton Park.
“As a club, we’re pleased to help him out.”

Former defender Nathan Thompson was released by the club last season following the expiration of his contract at Pompey, and since then the right-back has been unable to find a new team.
As a result, Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett has invited his former defender to train with the club as well as help the 28-year-old fullback find a team for the 2019/20 season (per Portsmouth’s official Twitter account).
With a former defender training at the club, Portsmouth fans flocked to social media to beg the club to re-sign Thompson.
Here is what some Portsmouth supporters had to say on Twitter following the news…

Come on Kenny. Give him a deal.. Walkes didn’t look like he wanted to go past the halfway line saturday, and Bolton’s injured!
— Alex Newell (@AlexNewel1) August 8, 2019
Just sign him back up. Better than what we’ve got.

Didn’t rule us out did he! We all know KJ never speaks the complete truth all the time, especially around signings and injuries. #pompey are very secretive in those ways now which is a good thing, keeps our opponents guessing
— Luke Ellis (@LukeEllisPUP) August 8, 2019
Sign him up again, he put in a lot of good performances last season
— Nel Ararezzo (@CartledgeNel) August 8, 2019
Sign him up Kenny, he’s solid and gives us more in the final third than walkes who seems to get a nose bleed #pompey

Think we should resign him very underrated player for us last season

With Thompson being a free agent, the 28-year-old can join a new club at any time outside of the transfer window.
