Potential consequences: Newcastle United move for Yacine Brahimi

Newcastle have recovered their barren run of form nicely to have claimed two wins on the bounce.

Rafa Benitez will be commended on the recent job he has been doing, performances that have seen Newcastle steer clear from the relegation zone.

Thanks to improvements by the team, fans are excited to see how well the Magpies can end the year.

Despite this though, it can’t paper over the cracks and the fact that Newcastle didn’t buy enough over the summer needs to be rectified.

Mike Ashley left Benitez with little to work with yet again but now O Jogo are reporting that the Magpies are in the hunt to sign Porto’s Yacine Brahimi.

The talented Algerian playmaker would prove to be a huge coup for Newcastle and one that could really turn around their season.

What could such a big move mean for Newcastle…

Kenedy dropped

The Brazilian has yet to really hit the ground running on his second loan move to Newcastle and with the quality of Yacine Brahimi potentially arriving, he would be the favourite to be dropped.

Brahimi has experience at a high level on his side whilst Kenedy is still a youngster learning his trade at St James’ Park.

Squad quality boosted

Newcastle were winless in ten league games this season but now their revival has begun. Transfers are likely to still be tight with Mike Ashley at the helm but the chance to bag Yacine Brahimi, a quality player on a free transfer, is a deal surely the Magpies will be interested in.

Indeed, the whole club could be lifted.
